Great machine!

Very impressed with the new X580. Bought it mostly for the new seat design, which hasn’t been a disappointment, and for the rear differential lock. Did NOT expect the improvement in grass cutting performance — this thing is awesome. My old 345 is a great machine but the new 580 blows it away in performance and design. I think the cutting benefits are due to the deck design and the speed of the blades. All in all, I love the new X580 and hope it lasts 30 years like my 345.

I love my mower — this is my third one

I have 3 sons and I gave my oldest and middle my mower as soon as I made the last payment. This one will go to my youngest in 3 years. I’ll get a new one and expect it to last many years. The first one is 9 years old now and has needed nothing but a deck belt, 1 set of blades and 1 battery. I mow 7 acres every week.

Blown away by how well it cuts

I purchased an X580 with the 54 Accel deck and Power Flow bagging system and got a great deal. The first lawn I mowed with it I was blown away at how well this thing cuts — so much better than the other John Deere tractor it replaced. It’s much faster and the power steering is much better. Power steering, power lift, Accel deck and the Kawasaki engine are awesome.

Perfect tool for all my farm work

Before buying my X580 I had only ever used a push mower, so I was a little unsure of myself. But the tractor turned out to be easy to use and maintain, and now I wonder why I didn’t get one earlier. I needed a machine to handle all the mowing and hauling on a high-bush blueberry farm, and with the 48-in. snowblower attachment it has handled the worst that a harsh Maine winter can throw at you. Reliable, versatile and easy to operate.

Differential lock and power steering work as advertised

Just purchased my 580 this week. 1. The locking differential allowed me to climb my steep yard with little fuss. 2. Power steering takes some getting used to, but works like described. 3. The 54-inch deck with the mulching option cuts well — the extra width let me cut under my fence. 4. The turn radius for a machine this size is amazing.

Much more power than my old tractor

I bought this mower three years ago and have not been disappointed. Much better, and far more power than the old LT166 I had for 20 years. The 54-in. deck is more than I need, but I like getting the yard mowed quickly. It handles my steep hills very well, and the differential is wonderful to keep the tires spinning together — it has gotten me out of more than a few spots.

Solid, heavy, well built

Coming from a big-box store tractor, the difference in build quality is night and day. The hydraulic deck lift is a small luxury I now would not give up, and the hour meter and dash display make maintenance simple. Only wish is that the bagger were included at this price.

Handles hills and hauling all season
